Delete your account

• Your profile, display name, public key and key backup.
• Your phone verification.
• The restrictions you set (lock, block).
• The hunts you created and the letters at their stops.
• The encrypted blocks of letters sent to you — the key that opens them is deleted, so they can never be opened again.
• Your device records and notifications.

• Letters you sent stay readable for their recipients. A letter is encrypted with the recipient's key; deleting your account does not affect it. Your name is replaced by "deleted account".
• Complaint records stay, anonymised: the identities are cleared, the text remains. Grounds for a sanction are not grounds if the person sanctioned can erase them.
• If the account reached the complaint threshold, the hash of its phone number is kept for twelve months. The number itself is never stored.

Once the request is received the account closes: no one can find you, you cannot receive or send letters. The data is permanently deleted after thirty days.

If you change your mind within that time you can open the app and undo the deletion from the "you" screen. After thirty days there is no way back: your key is deleted and your letters can never be opened.
